A Strafbefehl for 'Lügenfritz'
'Lügenfritz' earned someone a Strafbefehl. Germany's § 188 — toughened in 2021 to shield leaders from insult — just landed its first conviction: €2000 for calling the Chancellor a name in political protest. But § 188 < Article 5(1): the Basic Law protects free speech as one of democracy's highest goods. You wanna fight? See you in the courts of public opinion — or in LOLLYWOOD.

The Byline Returns
Across the world, journalists are walking out of collapsing institutions and publishing under their own names. The masthead is shrinking to a single person; the byline is becoming the brand. This is the story of that shift — told by the people living it, in a paper that is itself an example of it. An open thread: if you’ve reclaimed your name, you’re a chapter.

Trauma & Therapy
Hurt & Healing. Every other thread in this paper asks who is responsible; this one asks what it does to the person left standing. Dispatches on the wounds institutions leave — racism, silencing, the slow erosion of trust — and on the long work of healing from them. An open thread: if you are carrying one of these, you are a chapter.

The Lions' Share
Three companies are racing to own the machine that will think for everyone — and now they want the public to pay for the privilege. This thread follows the money: the IPOs, the trillion-dollar valuations, the compute and capital and attention swallowed whole. Every other thread in this paper asks who you are; this one asks what is left to eat. An open thread: if the feast is being served over your head, you are a chapter.

The Last Invoice
Work was done. The bill came due. It was not paid. The Last Invoice follows what happens after that silence — when an employer keeps what it owes, and the person owed decides to stop waiting. Every other thread in this paper asks who you are or what was taken from you; this one keeps the ledger and reads it back, out loud and in public. The weapon here is the oldest one a writer has — language and words — and the courts, when words are not enough. An open thread: if someone still owes you, you are a chapter.

Feminism & Inclusivity
What you have in your pants does not determine the success of your life. This thread is for the Porn-Star-Martini revolution — for more color in our lives, more women leading, and less ego at the top. For a century the icon was the man who takes it shaken, not stirred; we are done with him. The question this thread asks is who got left off the guest list — and what a country looks like when they finally run it. An open thread: if you've led, been led past, or refused to wait your turn, you are a chapter.
